The touch of living history
I grew up with Abbey Park, King Richard's Road and the strong sense of history that Richard brought to the city and county. Leicester has always felt the connection to the King in one way or another.
What ever your political leanings, the fact is this country's history is deeply enmeshed in the struggles of monarchy and the machinations of kings. So whether you feel that Richard should be interred in Yorkshire, London or Leicester - or not at all- the discovery of this body has brought the touch of ghosts to us all.
His story is rich, mysterious and bloody. The kind of story that brings the past to life.
