First felt and stitch
Made using wet felting, needle felting, more wet felting, rolling and then hand stitching. Not entirely happy as I think it is too fussy in places. However the appetite is whetted now and I want to make another picture in fiber.
It's absolutely wonderful Charlotte! I've tried a little of this, but on a much smaller scale. I love the soft almost watercolor quality to this piece.
Thank you Dulcy, that means a lot from you. I would love to see what you have tried, your eye for colour is so good. This one is 8 by 8 inches. Fancy going bigger next time.
I think it is wonderful
ReplyDeleteand also
amazing that you can create a picture with felt
Thanks, it is fun, so different from using paint.
DeleteGreat picture Charlotte........I love owls.
ReplyDeleteMust've taken quite a while , but the effort was worth it........

Not as long as you would think. The rolling is a bit arduous, but otherwise about 10 hours I think.

Oh, I do think it is glorious! Like painting with wool! Just wish I could see it in person!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comment. I really enjoyed the process. Now want to go bigger and bolder.
